So I found this video link which explains why artist Ed Ruscha uses gunpowder for some of his drawings. The drawings themselves don't look like a "drawing", but rather like a photo of words, which I found interesting. Also, using gunpowder also made it seem a lot more bad a** than charcoal. I mean I love using charcoal, just wished I would've thought about using it first, and then I would feel pretty awesome about myself. Link:
